CPS is a leading installer of automatic standby generators in Western and Central New York having installed thousands of standby generators and has over 12,000 current service and preventive maintenance customers.
Commercial Power Systems is looking to expand our team and is currently seeking a Commercial Estimator based out of our Farmington, NY location to build relationships and generate peace of mind for our customers by providing reliable back up power solutions.
The successful candidate will assist with engineering and design, sizing electrical and generator systems, construction and provide complete and accurate information on products and pricing.
You will be a key member of the team, partnering with the sales team to generate accurate and high quality proposals.
You'll work with our Project Managers, technical experts and customers to value engineer solutions spanning back up power, green energy and sophisticated solutions to suit their needs.

Responsibilities:
Develop relationships with customer by providing professional presentations, proposals and design input Preparing labor and material costing estimates for commercial installations, including acquiring subcontractor quotes and vendor specs When necessary, research alternative vendors and validate pricing parameters for new solutions Participate in sales and product training in person, online and through various content Conduct thorough job site measuring, take photos, calculate the cost of the project, participate in Sales Team presentations for customers Maintain the highest ethical standards consistent with good judgment, policy, objectives, and our company Code of Ethics Visit selected jobs to understand plans versus real world variances When needed, complete cost estimates for requested change orders and other job site variations Track and communicate estimate backlog and coordinate prioritization and timing with Sales and Project Management team members Continually build, develop, and grow relationships with customer base, vendor, subcontractor and Project Management / field personnel Requirements:
Proven experience of more than 3
years in electric project management or estimating Electric Journeyman License is preferred Bachelor's degree in applied sciences, electrical engineering, or related field Certified Professional Estimator is a plus Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Report writing and strategic planning skills.
Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
