Job Description
Responsibilities:
The Transportation Supervisor will be the direct supervisor of the drivers.
Supervision of the driving workforce will be done one on one, as well as in groups.
This position will assist and conduct hiring, training, and disciplining of drivers.
The primary objective is to assist the driving workforce in picking up empty bottles and cans at the retail customer locations.
This must be accomplished in the most productive and cost effective manner possible.
This person will work closely with the transportation manager, dispatcher, and driver workforce.
Tasks will include but are not limited to the following:
Ready paperwork, routes, equipment assignments for driver workforce Supplying dock/yard check to dispatch Conduct pre-shift meetings for driver workforce Communicating with other departments supervisors and managers Provide summaries to dispatcher Identify driver issues and provide corrective actions Report drivers over 10 hours to GM on daily basis Update customer information Recommend operational improvements, including route changes Review key operating indicators Provide daily production report to General Manager Manage, evaluate, engage team drivers DOT/OSHA compliance All daily Payroll functions Qualifications REQUIREMENTS:
Previous experience as a Driver or Dispatcher preferred Background or education in Supply Chain or Logistics 1-3 years of leadership experience CDL-A helpful but not required Additional Information REWARDS:
